Hi,
this is my first post - I need to ask for help in a big way!!
The Animal Rights & Rescue group in Lismore may be forced to close down due to a lack of volunteers & funds.
I am quoting direct form the website here:
ARRG has asked all members/supporters to contact anyone they know in media, philanthropists, celebrities etc. to give us a go.
ARRG will produce a 2 minute DVD featuring a reality day at the centre, animals, phones calls all the action and the main volunteers speaking and making a desperate appeal to save ARRG from closing.
ARRG needs to raise $50,000 to secure a wage for get our fulltime admin manager back and get all our other goals back on track.
Future goals to build our already approved vet clinic at the centre so we can save on vet bills and expand our desexing program for the many genuine people who need help. Approximate minimal cost to fit out our vet room with good 2nd hand equipment $20,000.
(end quote)
I don't know a lot of people and my own employer who is part of the media has declined to lend aid. I am trying to get other media onboard but it's rough going.
If anyone here on the forums knows of a media outlet/celebrity or other sympathetic organisations that might be able to lend a hand I'd be so grateful.
I hope that by posting I may be able to help out ARRG.
My beautiful dog came to me through ARRG and they also helped rehome the four kittens I rescued earlier this year (Mother cat stayed with me).
Without their presence in the Northern Rivers I know that many an innocent animal life will come to an end in some horrible council pound.
