A group of scientists are urging international action on climate change. A concerted global effort is urgently needed. Global warming is the most serious crisis that humanity faces right now. The recent UN report 'Livestock’s Long Shadow' demonstrated very clearly the huge detrimental effects of livestock production on our planet. Many - particularly vegans and vegetarians - are aware of this detrimental impact on our environment which, if stopped, will also stop the unnecessary and cruel suffering and death of 50 billion animals every year.

The need for the urgency is this. The UN report did not mention the melting of the Arctic ice which in 2007 broke all previous records and which now threatens life on this planet as we know it. Please look at this short video (about 7 minutes) which includes facts and figures from top NASA climatologists:

Now it is up to us to do everything in our power to bring about a massive wave of change, a colossal campaign all around the globe to awaken humanity about the future that awaits us if we continue as we are. It is up to us, who are aware, to put all our efforts to do as we have never done before - a united, unequivocal message to the world. We have all the facts and figures, thousands of scientists to substantiate our statements; and the reality of worldwide so-called natural disasters speak for themselves. Now we must work together for one campaign - to save our planet, to save humanity. It is no more, no less, and it has now become a global issue of such urgency that everyone’s effort is required.

I hope that you agree with this message; that we can all start on this campaign of global awareness together without delay. What we achieve will only benefit the Earth and humanity, and what we achieve will depend on humanity. Let us all do our utmost, starting now - united and with one voice.

You are the experts for campaigns and will know what to do. Please let us communicate and respond. This is the Earth’s call and it is that urgent.

Yours sincerely
