Around the world, cities are looking for ways to feed their fast growing populations sustainably and ethically.

Economist and social commentator, David McWilliams, has seen the effects of shrinking crop stockpiles, increases in biofuel demand and commodity speculation. These changes herald a possible end for cheap, accessible food across the world and this City Talk will explore how cities can respond.

Lord Mayor, Clover Moore, will talk about how cities can plan for the food crisis by rethinking the way we connect to food sources and local initiatives such as community gardens and our planned City Farm.
A panel of Sydney 'foodies' will discuss how Sydney’s food culture is changing and how that is in turn changing the lifestyle of residents and visitors to the city. They will look at how the food movement can strengthen communities and ask if this food culture can bring people back to the table.

When: Tuesday, 13 November (6.30 to 8.00pm)

Where: City Recital Hall, Angel Place, Sydney (North of Martin Place between George and Pitt Streets)

Tickets are FREE and ESSENTIAL and available from City Recital Hall Angel Place Box Office on 02 8256 2222 or cityrecitalhall.com
