Jacquie, along with husband Brett, run Big Ears Sanctuary www.bigearsanimalsanctuary.com , a no kill shelter which takes all animals including a lot of ex-livestock. If they could win this $5,000 it would enable them to do more work on their barn to house animals and create a facility for educating groups about factory farming and suitable care for animals that can be adopted from Big Ears. The money would also be used towards veterinary bills.

Earlier this year, in spite of Jacqui being extremely ill with cancer, they rescued 300 rabbits from a meat farm, having already changed the lives of hundreds of other abused animals.
