The Voiceless Grants Program is now open. Now in its ninth year, the grants program rewards applicants with the ideas, passion and expertise to create meaningful change for animal protection.

Grants are awarded to projects that address the following subjects:

* Factory farming, including all forms of ‘industrialised farming’ for food such as meat chickens, hens, pigs, dairy cows and the use of feedlots for meat production. Projects addressing the plight of bobby calves and live export of animals will also be accepted; or
* The commercial kangaroo industry, not including culls undertaken by Government associated entities deemed to be 'conservation based'; or

* Building animal protection as a social justice movement in Australia. Projects must apply to the whole animal movement (not a single issue) and build up broad social awareness and acceptance of animal protection. Activities may include conferences and workshops, market research, media, advertising, PR campaigns, online resources, publications etc.

You can submit your application online now through the Voiceless website at www.voiceless.org.au/grants/2012

Applications close midnight Friday, 20 July 2012 with judging taking place during August and September. At the conclusion of the judging process in late September applicants will be notified if they have been successful or selected for People’s Choice voting. Successful projects will be announced at the annual Awards Event on 6 December at the Blue Hotel in Woolloomooloo, Sydney.

If you have any enquiries about the Grants Program, please contact Voiceless at grants@voiceless.org.au
