Hey Guys and Girls,

I thought I would start this thread as a warning for all vegetarians who feel they would like to know as much as they can about the food they are eating, and what sort of nasties food contains.

I'll begin with a few of the most unknown sources of products sourced from slaughtered animals:

Taurine - found in energy drinks, energy supplements etc.

Rennet - found in most cheeses (non-animal rennet is available in certain brands and will be stated on the label)

Gelatine: Found in most things that wobble! Jelly, cheesecakes, bavarians, lollies.

Glycerine: Found in some toothpastes, chewing gums etc

Please help the struggle to find honest food by adding to this list

Thanks for your time

Will

We have to be so careful with what we eat if we are to keep a karma free diet. I didn't know about glycerine or taurine so cheers for that. I steer clear of energy drinks but I do drink Coke and Powers Gold beer sometimes which I believe is vego. I will check my toothpaste later. Its easy to check for the obvious but the fine print contains nasty animal additives which of course we must all try hard to avoid. Smile
