According to the New York Times, Tyson Foods, the US's largest meat company, reported a huge drop in net income for the last quarter. Tyson attributes this drop in profits to lower consumer demand for chicken and beef, as well as to debt-related charges. The company has lowered its expectation of full-year profits by $1 billion due to the lower demand for meat.
